AI isn't authentic, but it is advancement

In a world that is consumed with AI and how it's going to affect our lives; I am leaning back and taking time to ensure that my authenticity shines brighter than ever before.
AI isn't bad, it's helpful. It's easy to use and can learn your habits; making mundane tasks easier to accomplish throughout the day.
And yet, I can tell when someone uses AI to write an email or they use it to create their social postings. Again, it's not bad.... it's not YOU.
We're losing the art of authenticity... we're changing quickly and thinking slowly. We're accepting terms and conditions without reading the fine print. And, trust me-I've definitely checked the "I agree" box on terms and conditions I didn't read. So, why am I hesitant now?
Because we're the ones feeding the AI machine. Scripts are starting to sound the same. Posts look the same. Emails aren't personable anymore... they're generated.
Don't get me wrong, when it comes to generating a word document that has six headers with four sub-points each, organizing information about flight information, eating locations, Hotel information, contact information and agendas for a national team meeting... I will use AI. It can generate that document in minutes saving me time and frustration of perfecting the margins.
But when it comes to sustaining connections and relationships, I don't lean into AI, I lean away from it.
I like the conversation process. I want to know what you're thinking. I like your typos in your emails, they make me giggle. We're human and mistakes happen. But with AI we're taking all the little nuances out of life.
I hope no one reads this and gets offended because they us AI to help them write emails, I'm just telling you how I feel today. Hopefully, you allow space for feelings to evolve and change as other life events take place.
Authenticity to me reflects the purest parts of me. The crooked smile no one really notices, but I do. Authenticity makes me love the body I have even though to social media standards I should be living a soft-girl life eating less than 1200 calories a day, running three miles and drinking a gallon of water.
I'm disciplined, but I'm not easily influenced. I like to create routines that work for the life I'm currently living. They often ebb and flow because I travel for work. There are some weeks where I see the pilates studio six times and other weeks I may go twice. It all depends on how life is shaping out for me.
The nuance of life is what makes our stories unique. It's what makes us interesting. It's what makes me want to engage more with people who show the process and not just the finished work.
Process creates the story you're going to tell, so lean into your process and don't let AI shape how you tell it. Let AI help you create the format for the book you're going to write, not the content itself.
Be gentle with yourself and know that you can do ANYTHING! (Including being yourself, authentically)
I love you and I see you!
